Meeting Rajiv Makhni, one of India's pioneering tech journalists
Quick verdict
In 2018 I met Rajiv Makhni, one of India's pioneering tech journalists, whose show Gadget Guru helped a whole generation fall in love with technology. It happened while I was covering the XIN Philanthropy Conference by Alibaba Group and UCWeb.
I had the opportunity to meet one of the pioneering tech journalists of India: Rajiv Makhni.
Why this meant so much
Gadget Guru was one of the first shows that focused on the latest technology. For a lot of us, it's where a love for gadgets and tech began, as kids watching TV.
Meeting the person behind it, and getting to say thank you for his contribution to the digital community, was a proper fan moment.
2018
XIN Philanthropy Conference · Global Forum
The conference
The event was an initiative by Alibaba Group, jointly with UCWeb: the Global Forum of the XIN Philanthropy Conference, focused on technology and giving back. Covering it as part of the media was a great experience.
Looking back
Years later, AkioLife is still about the same thing that shows like Gadget Guru taught me: real, useful advice about the things we buy.
